Global Alliance to End Violence Against Children

SDGs

1, 3. 5, & 17

The Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children strives for a world free from violence against children. It operates in a partnering model to harness the work of States, international organisations and non-state actors. Twenty-nine countries have joined the initiative attempting to coordinate responses relating to protection and safeguarding. GP3 advisors have consulted a partner organization regarding legal and institutional framework options to support alliance-wide collaboration.

SDG Alliance 8.7

SDGs

1, 3. 5, 8, & 17

Alliance 8.7 is a global program which supports SDG Target 8.7 which is to “take immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, including recruitment and use of child soldiers, and by 2025 end child labour in all its forms.”  The Alliance partners with governments, international and regional organizations, labor organizations, employer and business organizations, NGOs, academic bodies, the media and survivor networks. GP3 consultants have provided advice on innovative finance, institutional and governance design options to support the Alliance’s objectives.

Vessel Protection Solutions

SDGs

1, 3. 9, & 17

VPS sought to provide defensive equipment to protect mariners from hijacking and kidnap threats in the Indian Ocean.  It promoted new technologies, including rail barriers, netting to mitigate rocket attacks, safe-structures and related equipment.  The initiative worked to build partnership arrangements with governments, shipping companies, technology providers and international insurance markets.  Its objectives were not realized. GP3 consultants provided advisory support relating to proposed partnering arrangements and management of technology programs.

Digital Equity Association

SDGs

1, 9 & 17

Digital Equity (DEQ) is a Swiss non-profit association to encourage partnerships across States and non-State actors in humanitarian and development sectors, relating to digital identity, privacy and protection.  DEQ seeks programmatic, policy and technical solutions to balance the interests posed by large companies harvesting data and the citizens from whom the data is gathered, raising privacy and equity considerations given the value of big data. GP3 advisors have consulted on the institutional design, formation and governance structures to help further DEQ’s purposes.
